Mission Valley

I love photos like these. I wish I had more of them. This was taken at the mall in one of their photo booths. We had probably gone to a movie and decided on our way out that we HAD to get our pictures taken. These were taken during my Senior and their Sophomore years.

A new beginning

This is the only photo I have from 2004 at R's Wedding to Steve. It is truly indescribable the feelings I felt on this day and the day that followed. Holding hands with the one person I never thought that would be possible with again began to make those walls crumble. Reconciliation - to restore

Breakaway

I was so lucky to attend a H.S. that allowed a Christian Club to meet, talk and pray on our campus. The year this was taken it was a very rainy day. While most of us have on jeans, sweatpants and sweatshirts TK has on a very cute outfit and looks fab.

17 hours

In 1999 Curly and I drove to Colorado to pick up TK and help bring her stuff back to Cali. This photo cracks me up. That is Mr. Bear in my lap, Paul won him for me out of a claw machine. I am pretty sure that is one of Paul's shirts I am wearing. I believe this was the first time we were going to be apart for more than 2 days. The most important part is my mouth, I am betting I sang the entire way to CO. To this day I always sing in the car. The only time I don't is when I am concerned about something or overthinking something, then I tend to stare out the window

Camp Tecuya

I miss Rynell and Sarah tons. We went to so many camps together during Elementary and Junior High School. Some of our favorites were the horseback riding ones. Even with my cast on they still let me ride. I can only imagine how gross my arm was when they took that thing off.

13 years

So this weeks events has brought up a memory that was half my life ago. When I was in the 8th grade for New Years Eve I went to Knott's with my Mom, Vivian Carpenter and Carmen Ottero. I know that Viv's birthday is that day so I am sure that had something to do with us going there. Also just to have something fun during Christmas Break. I know that we went on the Extreme Scream sort of ride and Vivian didn't want to go on it but did. I also know that at some point I had a photo of all of us going on the log water ride it was a key chain and I have no idea what happened to it. This week I went back to Knotts with my graduating 8th graders. There are so many different rides than the last time I was there. I had a good time looking around and riding the coasters. It would have been a bit more fun if I had a few friends to go with but I had my ipod and hung out with some of my kids every now and then.

Beach Day

The end of school and beginning of summer vacation meant a weekly visit to the beach when I was in H.S. Every Wednesday we would load up in a bus or cars and head out to La Jolla Shores. The youth group would set up camp on the grassy side of the boardwalk. There would be bbqing, cards, lounging around, swimming and surfing. Always a great time. I am sure many of you out there know a lot of friendly faces in the photo above. Good times, great memories.

Magic Iraq

So my High and Low this week have to do with my friend Charlie. It was so fantastic to see her when she came to town last Saturday and we were able to hang out, go to Magic Mountain and have dinner together the next night. However she was only here for 2 days and then left again. She is now in Georgia for a week and then will be off to Iraq as an independent contractor for the U.S. She will be gone for a whole long year. I wish her well and I am excited that she has a computer and a webcam to be using.
Good luck Charles, and we'll see you soon!

Colorado River

In May of our Freshman year Moe, Curly and I took off with a group Tom(Moe's Dad) was part of. We went camping and canoed down the river. Well some of us canoed others sat in the middle of the canoe and pretended to do some paddling. ;) I wish I had done more of this type of stuff. Who knows, maybe there is still time.

Accepting Donations

I am setting up a at my mom's for either the 2nd or 3rd weekend in April. I will be collecting items that anyone would like to donate (as long as it will fit in my 4runner) the money collected will be added to our team for the MS walk. Our goal is to raise $1,000.00 for this important cause, we have a little over $400 raised so far.

Thank you to those who have donated cans and bottles or purchased braclets and MS bears (Amy, Jeric, Mom, my neighbors at the Apollo Apts, Morgan, Trisha, Moe, Beth, S.Whittier SD)
please keep it up! Thank you to those who have donated online
(Bill and Marie Dougherty, Grandma and Grandpa Goedhart, Paul and Cindy Goedhart, Mark and Betty Hutchins)

Please continue supporting me, my team and this cause in any way you can through donations (recyclables, items for the garage sale, online donations), prayer, being a workout buddy, or joining the MS walk. I greatly appreciate it and I know that we can make a difference in the lives of those who are living with MS.
Thanks again for all your hard work.

Mini Golf

VGC youth group use to have all kinds of events. One of the great ones was going mini golfing for $10 tuesdays. You get unlimited mini golf along with two tickets for bumper boats, go-karts and a couple dollars in tokens for the arcade. I cannot get over how young the three of us look. That is TK, Erin J. and me. Wow am I glad I traded those giant glasses in for some contacts. I still have those shoes I am wearing, you think it is time to get rid of them?
