Fishy

So today I planned on swimming sprints (read: swim as fast as I can for as long as I can) for 20 minutes. Well I reached 20 minutes and decided to push myself farther I reached 30 minutes. It felt good. The water was a bit chilly but I enjoyed it.

decision

It is not for a year but I have decided to do the MSwalk. I wanted to talk to TK before posting on here what my plans were. I will be doing this walk in honor of her daddy and family for what they are going through and will go through. TK's daddy was diagnosed with MS around the first of September. I think it is kind of fitting that it will be almost exactly 1 year after his diagnosis. During the walk they have pep rallies and a candle light service. I have always hated feeling like there was nothing I could do in situations like this. Now I have the opportunity to honor loved ones and hopefully raise some money for research so that someday a cure may be found.

whats next?

I have already decided on my next walk. Sadly they are not having another one until September of 2007. I am still looking trying to see if there is one sooner. Once I register I will post what it is, where it is and why I am choosing it.

I will continue to put up my excersising progress on this blog.

There is no way you will get out of me how much I weigh, but between the time I started training for this race and now I have lost about 20 pounds. If the next race I do isn't for a year, I expect that number will be much higher.

Thank you for all of your love and support.

today is the day

I woke up at 730am to get my stuff and head out to pick up Angela. We then went over to Fashion Island where the Race took place. We parked about a mile away, walked to the start. Completed the 5K in about an hour. Morgan and I walked around looking at the booths and then walked the mile back to the car. Those are the specifics of the race.

The emotion of seeing all of those men and women is indescribable.
It was an incredible day. One I will never forget.

Arizona Squishy

High- My high for the week has been well, the entire week because I got to spend it with my bestest friend TK! We had lots o fun, many many many laughs and an overall good time together. I love you kid.

Low - So as you would guess my low is leaving to go home. I love home and the people who are home but it is sad to leave T behind me not having a plan for when we will see each other again. I know we will call/write/text/email (gotta love this century) but being in the same room with her is so much better.

sprints

I decided to jog down to the park that is about 3/4 a mile away. Once there I did 11 sets of 4. I ran down and back on the court and then walked down and back. It felt so good to run again. I walked a bunch after that. Stretched and then laid in the middle of the court and watched the night sky. The stars here are incredible. Then I walked the long way back to the house. Running is such a great way to clear my mind. Gotta love those endorphins.

baseball

So I went to the Baseball game on the 17th and went up and down about 5 flights of stairs. I also walked around the entire ball park since I can't remember ever being there for a game before.

round the block

So tonight, as I am in a new city I decided to take a couple laps around the area. It was a lovely night in Mesa, AZ. I walked around for about 40 min. at a brisk pace. It felt really good to be doing something active again after I was laid up for a couple weeks with my back.

Survivor Amy

High- Survivor started again! Yea. We are so going to take it this year.

Low- Knowing I wont be hanging out in SD for over two weeks.

Alpine Slide

Sophomore Year @ Big Bear
We had a blast when Erin's parents rented a house up in Big Bear for the weekend. We went rode the Alpine Slides and went skiing. At night we watched movies. It was a two story place that had a loft on the second floor which looked down into the living room so we had a popcorn fight, I am pretty sure I won since I was up in the loft looking down, it was much easier to ambush Erin. Heh Heh.

the race

Because of my recent injury. I will be walking the upcomming Race for the Cure. So if anyone wants to join me there is still time to sign up. I will find another one to do in a few more months and hopefully I will be able to jog that one. And eventually be able to run one.

9.04.2006

owwww

I hurt myself helping my friend pack. I had to get a shot from the doc. and I am on orders to sit and do nothing. AHhhhh. I hate sitting and doing nothing.

9.03.2006

bye-bye

Helped my friend Charlie move out of her place today, going up and down stairs, carrying boxes, bags and queen sized mattress and bed out to the truck. Oy!

Friends

This weeks high was getting to hang out with Ric and Jeri. Having the opportunity to talk and have dinner together was a lot of fun.

My low was saying goodbye to Charlie. Not knowing when, where or if we will see each other again makes it a very sad experience. I know we have all of these means of communication but it is not the same as saying hey come on over for a girls night, or being able to meet up at the block for a fun evening.

What was your High / Low for the week?

9.01.2006

High / Low

I am thinking to end each week I will tell one good and one bad thing that happened during the week. I will post them on Sunday which will be the end of one week and the beginning of another.
