Ski Trip

When Erin and I were Sophomores in H.S. we went on a weekend ski trip up to Big Bear. We had a great time skiing, watching tv, going down the sled thing, having popcorn fights! I am glad that all these 25 years we have remained friends. I love you Chicky.

going somewhere

So on Saturday and Sunday I thought it would be nice if we got off the track and walked somewhere. On Saturday we walked 2 miles down to Blockbuster got a few movies with a gift card and walked the 2 miles back. On Sunday we walked up to Target, another two miles there walked around the store found a book, a movie and some weights then Paul and I each carried the weights half the way home for another two miles.

On Sunday night I started not feeling so good and curled up on the couch. I figured if I still didn't feel good I would pop some day time cold meds and asprin and I would be alright. I got to school made it about an hour before tossing my breakfast. Wrote up sub plans, then went to the office to see if anyone could come in as they don't let you stick around if you are spiking a fever. I stayed for half a day by the time they got someone to come in. I went home and crawled in bed. I was out for about 2 hours, woke up popped another pill and went back to sleep for another hour. I got up played some sims. About 730pm I finally felt hungry so I had a little something. All this to say I didn't do any miles today.

I will hopefully feel better tomorrow to at least walk a mile or something. Sorry for this long winded post.

Jeric Sports

High - Paul winning a raffle to meet an LA kings player. Having dinner with Ric and Jeri at Red Robin. We always have a great time just hanging out with them. Having an extra day off (monday) and being able to hang out with my moms. Also making it through my second week of Kinder, only two more to go.

Low - Target being stupid about letting us return something!

1.17.2007

Sorry for the lapse in posting. We have continued to work towards our goal of 750 miles this year. On Sunday Paul and I gave it the good 'ol college try but it was so dang cold out that we did half a mile and screamed UNCLE. Monday I completed 2 and a half miles, Tuesday I did the minimum 2 miles and today I finished three miles.

Miss My Girls

This was taken a few years back at a GGW night at the block. We ate at TGIF and then headed over to the AMC for a flick. Anyone remember what we saw? I have been trying and can't. I am so glad we had these nights when we were all able to get together and hang out. They were always filled with laughter and fun. I love you all!

1.13.2007

I told Paul we should go earlier like while the sun was still up but during our lazy day we just never got around to it. So at 8pm we headed out to the track. Again quickly did our two miles and got the heck out of the cold. We just talked the whole time we didn't listen to Ipods tonight and it was very nice. Paul and I really enjoyed ourselves. Tomorrow I told him either we go while the sun is still our or I am going alone! The cold plus wind on the track does not make my legs happy. My muscles get all sorts of mad at me. My mood is numb like my fingers are numb, not numb like I feel numb.

1.12.2007

so dang cold

So Paul and I headed out this evening to do some miles and realized it was way to cold to be out side, so we quickly did our minimum two miles and high tailed it home! My Ipod was so cold it froze, literally. Kinda lame, I think it needs a sweater.

Kindergarten Workout Movie

High - Paul and I have continued strong with our daily workouts! On Friday we finally got to see each other and had a nice dinner at home followed by a movie. We saw the Good Shepard. It was good to spend time together as our schedule during the week doesn't allow for it very often. I was the lucky recipient of a long term sub. position which is great for our monies situtation.

Low - The long term sub position is in Kindergarten. My days are spent having kids say sorrry for pushing, hitting, kicking, taking blocks from each other, calling names etc. And somewhere in there I am to teach them their alphabet, numbers, sequencing, days of the week, months, and how to write.

JERIC 03

this afternoon i headed over to the BU track around 5:15 and began the routine i started on Monday and Tuesday. after the first couple laps my legs didn't feel tight tonight so i started extending the portion of the track i jogged till I was jogging half a lap for the second two miles i completed. Which for me is a pretty big step forward after my two steps back yesterday. So for those of you who are lost, i did 4 miles tonight. My legs were feeling really good by the end. Maybe my legs just werent warmed up enough.

i would also like to give a "shout out" to Jeri whom i saw at the track tonight. she came out as i was beginning my last mile to work out with a friend. during my second time around she shouted some encouragement, which i am pretty sure made my legs speed up. thank you! a little "go cyndi" goes a long way.

oh i forgot to mention yesterday and today paul did his two miles. he has dropped over 10 pounds so far. yea, paul!

Josh

This is my favorite picture of my cousin Josh. He looks a bit different now as this was taken about 9 years ago at my H.S. graduation. He was such a cute kid. He is wearing the hat my dad wore to keep the sun off his noggin. Josh really wanted to try it on, he had the biggest grin on his face when my dad first put it on his head.

i dont want to

Well, I really didn't want to go to the track today, but I have gotten myself in the habit of when I get home immediately putting on my sweats and running shoes. I have found I am more likely to go that way. So I went. I began the same workout as Monday and Tuesday but after three laps my the outside of my left leg felt so tight I couldn't extend it. So I walked the next mile and a quarter at a slower pace than normal. Then the last two laps I was able to run the ) again and my leg didn't hurt. Weird.

1.09.2007

seperate workouts

I am not sure what Paul did today, but he updated that he completed his 2 miles.

I came home and changed then headed out to Biola around 6pm. I did the same route today as yesterday running the ) and all for 3 miles. My muscle above my right knee was a bit sore before running, but felt fine during and after.

Paul is now at 24 miles and I am at 31.

1.08.2007

two roads

Today Paul used our treadmill to complete his two miles today before he had to leave for his evening shift.

After I got home and relaxed for an hour I went grocery shopping for healthy foods. Then I headed over to the Biola track and completed three miles. Last week I walked every one of those 25 miles. This week I am walking a U and running the other portion. The easiest way to explain is to use a picture of sorts.
____
(____) This is by no means a to scale use of symbols but I run one of the ) and walk the rest of every lap. I am going to try and keep it up for the entire week. We will see how well I do.

I am now at 28 miles and Paul is at 22.

1.07.2007

quick walk so we can get to the game...

Yesterday, Paul and I had a somewhat lazy day. Trying to fix Ipods and using the internet. We had breakfast, then drove over to Biola to walk we did 3 miles which brought me up to 20 miles in the past 6 days, and Paul to 17.5.

We have already surpassed the 14 for the week that we said we would do minimum. But now I want to make it to 100 laps before our seven days are up. That would mean I would need to do 5 miles today. I may split it up into two sessions. We will see. I am glad I got to begin this an entire week before going back to work, it establishes a routine that I am less likely to break.

I start in a Kinder class tomorrow. I am already very stressed out about it. I want to excell. I feel like every time I step into a classroom I have to prove myself all over again, like I don't belong to be there so I have to work 5x as hard as everyone else. Kinder freaks me out all on its own.

I have subbed for two Kinder classes in the past and it was me against 33 5yr. olds and things did not go well. I will be in this classroom for approx.20 days. Please pray for my sanity, and the tighting in my chest and the swirling thoughts in my head.

Today while Paul was at work I completed a little under 2.7 miles on the treadmill. Then about an hour after Paul got home we headed over to the Biola track and knocked off another 2.5 miles. I ended my first week with 25 miles and Paul is now up to 20. I would say not a bad start. Here's hoping we can keep it up. Remember our minimum per week is 14. I plan on beating that each week, I am not sure I will be able to do 25, but we will see. Either this week or next I am going to add in weights to my routine. I may wait till next only because I am not quite sure how much work I will need to do as far as planning for the Kinder class, or what hours are required. We will see after tomorrow what my decision will be.

fantastic friday

Paul and I had a nice day off together. In the evening once the Ipods were updated we headed out to the track. We completed 4 miles tonight. It was so dang cold out there! I love walking when it is cold. Paul is not such a fan. That brings me to 17 miles and still two days left to go this week and Paul is at 14.5 for the week. I am planning on excedding 20, which will be incredible if I can keep that up.

MS New Year's Game

Some more highs this week. I signed up for the MS walk! I am so excited to be able to feel like I can do something to support Keith, even if it is indirectly. We had family game night which was lots of fun. Paul and I began our exercise routine of walking a minimum of 2 miles a day to help get heathier this year. New Years Eve we spent more time with family playing cards for monies (I even won one of the games). Yea, for another fun week.

quick 2

as i dont start working again until the 8th i was available to go walk with paul this morning before his shift this evening. we only had time to do our minimum of 2 miles before heading home for a delicious lunch and a quick shower so that he would be on time. it was a nice day out, but i think i prefer to walk in the late evening. which isnt going to be an option at the end of this week when i have to get to bed at a decent time. i am waiting until i have been walking for a week till i go buy the Biola Fitness Center pass. A Christmas gift from my mommy, thank you mommy.

softball, calories and a sore bum

my bum is sore from yesterday! just thought you would all like to know. i have been spending my day tracking down healthy meals so that i can put together a booklet of them for us. one of our biggest problems is not planning our meals ahead, then we get lazy and eat things that are bad for us or we go out to eat. we need to break that cycle. i am going to start planning the weeks food on sundays that way we know what to get at the store on mondays and we already have in mind what will be on the plate that evening.

a great new site i found is called Calorie King it has lots of nutritional information on it. also if you go to discoveryhealth.com and sign up every day you login and report what physical activity you did during the day or your current weight you are entered to will a million bucks from the 13th of Jan to the 10th of March.

i just got an email from the current softball coach at biola saying there will be an alumni game on the 10th of Feb! that is only a month away. i want to play, i love to play but i am so self conscious about my weight that i dont want to look like a fool. i guess i will just have to work as hard as i can for the next month and when it gets closer we'll see how i feel.

i also went through our fridge and threw out a bunch of stuff we so dont need in there.

Paul worked a day shift so when he got off work we had a nice dinner together and then headed over to the biola track. Tonight we walked 4 miles together. The first 2 and a half we just walked and talked which was nice, then we got out the Ipods and rocked out. It was good times.

Locked OUT

TK and Daniel
I can only assume that TK and I were going to the Orthodontist, or Subway for some samichs after school. It was one of those rare occasions that TK was blessed to drive her families stick shift van. Where ever we were we didn't get far because TK realized that the keys got locked inside. We tried everything we could think of to get the door unlocked. Then on Daniel's way home he spotted us and stopped, we told him what happened. He worked the lock for a minute and got the door open. YEA Daniel! So much trouble would have been had if we had to call any parents to come bail us out. I can remember laughing so hard afterwards. It was a very memorable event. Good Times!

1.02.2007

going and going

I started the day in San Diego so Paul did his laps at Biola before he left for work, which meant I was on my own when I got home to do mine. I started out at a fairly fast pase and got slower and slower. I completed 5 miles and I was out on the track for a little under an hour and a half. I did my required 2 miles and then i just kept saying well i will do two more, and I kept saying that to myself until I had reached 5 miles and it was 10:40pm so I decided to head home at that point.

Happy New Year

Paul and I have discussed a few things that we want to accomplish this year. I am not so sure all of them are resolutions (things we want to change) but instead goals. The one I want to share with you all is our Healthy Living Goal. We plan to walk 2 miles every day in 2007. This would give us a grand total of 728 miles this year. However, we are challenging ourselves to make it to 750. This does not include daily walking of to the car, or errands these are straight 2 miles either around a track, on the treadmill or hitting the pavement. On the side of our Hutchins Blog we will have a counter with the Goal and where each of us stand individually. In addition I want to do some weight training or additional cardio 3 times a week. I am also trying to keep a food diary. Paul does extra at work every day with the crazy amount of stairs he is up and down for 8 hours. In advance thank you to all my sisters who are my support. I am going to try and be candid about my feelings on here so I must warn you it may not always be pleasant. So... there you have it, hopefully you will all be seeing drastic changes in us.

Today Paul and I did our 2 miles at Biola's track.
