Idyllwild Eugene

I have been doing quite a bit of traveling lately. And so both my high and low this week come from trips I was on.

My high is Idyllwild. I love that we go up to celebrate us every year. It is always a fun time no matter what we do up there. Paul and I enjoy looking around town and/or visiting with friends. There are two things that we have done every year, the first is watch a World Series game at the pizza parlor and the second is taking a walk and going to sit on "OUR" bench and talk. I have such great memories from our time spent on that mountain.

The low for the week took place in Oregon. I flew up with Moe and the kids on Wednesday and they took me back to the airport on Friday. Saying good-bye to them sucked to say the least. It was a two hour drive to get to the airport. I unloaded my 2 bags and then had to say good-bye to the kiddos. I gave each one a kiss, by the time I got to James I thought I was going to lose it. But then I remembered I have to get going, or I will miss my flight so I sucked it up and got out. I hugged Moe and we took a photo at which time I almost lost it again. But if I didn't run inside there was no way I would catch my flight. So off I went and I waited till I was safely on the plane before I started crying. I will miss you Askew Clan.

Memory of the Week

I went to my old H.S.'s Homecoming Game once again this year. They beat La Jolla but barely. There was a suprising amount of people there considering it was raining on and off throughout the game. While there I thought about all the games I went to in H.S. and being a part of the Marching Band. Morgan and I did not stay to see the bands performance because it was so cold and we had to work in the morning.

since ive been gone

The week I was gone... Everyday was a workout. We walked and walked, hour after hour. We lifted, squated, reached pushed and pulled. It felt good! Until those pesky blisters started showing up. Ever since then I have had to be careful how I step. They are not my friends. I will soon be back to my normal work out routine.

Nightmare Break-in

My high/low for this week happened in the same day.

Paul worked a morning shift on Thursday so that we could go up to the El Capitan theatre to see the first showing of Nightmare 3-D. Since Paul works closer to his parents house we decided to meet there. Which brings me to the low for this week...

Low: My in-laws house was broken into over $400 in cash was stolen which included my FIL's bowling winnings and Bradley's change which was around $400 bucks it self, all of my MIL and SIL's jewerly. Bradleys digital camera. For awhile the cat couldn't be found and we were scared because the front door was left open and she has never been outside. My MIL got home around 2:30pm and realized what happened. She called Bradley who rushed home. I was already on my way there and Paul hit the gas as soon as I talked to him. My FIL is in NY on business until Saturday evening. Luckily the pets are okay just a little freaked out. Everyone in the family is safe so those are good things.

High: Paul and I still made it to the theatre for Nightmare. It was really cool. There was a panel before hand and then the 3-D movie itself. We followed it up with Cold Stone ice cream. It was a very nice date night. I will post photos and more info on the hutchins blog.

Sophmore Year

TK and I took these in a photo booth at the mall when we went to see The Little Mermaid. Renee, Brad, Hilda and Erin were with us. I am not sure if anyone else was. After the movie we grabbed a bite to eat and then headed over to the Rec. Center because I wanted to play basketball. So we all hung out there for awhile. Good Times!

I leave tomorrow morning for sunny San Diego with my pal Curly. We will be in T-town for two days and then we will be kicking it in Del Mar for a week. We are working with a company to set up and event at the Fair Grounds. It sounds like it should be a lot of fun. I am not sure what the hours will be yet or if I will have access to the internet. So I may be MIA until the 13th. Who knows I may find another career out there that is just perfect for me. ;) (squishy: note the icon photo. hehe) Have a great week and I will see you on the other side.

Sorry

I have been having trouble getting Blogger Beta to let me post or upload photos. I will try to get back on track with my posting on here.

4more

Today I went back over to the BU track to do some miles. I did 1.5 miles and then the boys soccer team kicked everyone off the track while they had practice. Booo! The girls team didn't kick everyone off yesterday.

I was not done with my workout for the day so I headed up to MacNally field and completed another 2.5 miles for a total of 4 for the day.

It was approximately 9,523 steps. And that doesnt count the additional walking I did once I got home. So yea me.

This evening I noticed that I had a giant blister on the side of my heel so I think that tomorrow will be a swimming day as long as it isnt too cold.

10.03.2006

round and round

After work I headed right over to Biola. I did 20 laps... in other words 5 miles. =)Roughly I walked 12,300 steps. It is recomended to try and walk between 10,000 and 12,000 if you want to lose weight. So I supposed I did pretty darn good today.

10.01.2006

i was walkin

today, i walked... a lot. i didnt keep track of how far. i just kept walking and walking.

9.27.2006

Fishy

So today I planned on swimming sprints (read: swim as fast as I can for as long as I can) for 20 minutes. Well I reached 20 minutes and decided to push myself farther I reached 30 minutes. It felt good. The water was a bit chilly but I enjoyed it.

9.26.2006

decision

It is not for a year but I have decided to do the MSwalk. I wanted to talk to TK before posting on here what my plans were. I will be doing this walk in honor of her daddy and family for what they are going through and will go through. TK's daddy was diagnosed with MS around the first of September. I think it is kind of fitting that it will be almost exactly 1 year after his diagnosis. During the walk they have pep rallies and a candle light service. I have always hated feeling like there was nothing I could do in situations like this. Now I have the opportunity to honor loved ones and hopefully raise some money for research so that someday a cure may be found.

9.24.2006

whats next?

I have already decided on my next walk. Sadly they are not having another one until September of 2007. I am still looking trying to see if there is one sooner. Once I register I will post what it is, where it is and why I am choosing it.

I will continue to put up my excersising progress on this blog.

There is no way you will get out of me how much I weigh, but between the time I started training for this race and now I have lost about 20 pounds. If the next race I do isn't for a year, I expect that number will be much higher.

Thank you for all of your love and support.

today is the day

I woke up at 730am to get my stuff and head out to pick up Angela. We then went over to Fashion Island where the Race took place. We parked about a mile away, walked to the start. Completed the 5K in about an hour. Morgan and I walked around looking at the booths and then walked the mile back to the car. Those are the specifics of the race.

The emotion of seeing all of those men and women is indescribable.
It was an incredible day. One I will never forget.

Arizona Squishy

High- My high for the week has been well, the entire week because I got to spend it with my bestest friend TK! We had lots o fun, many many many laughs and an overall good time together. I love you kid.

Low - So as you would guess my low is leaving to go home. I love home and the people who are home but it is sad to leave T behind me not having a plan for when we will see each other again. I know we will call/write/text/email (gotta love this century) but being in the same room with her is so much better.

9.19.2006

sprints

I decided to jog down to the park that is about 3/4 a mile away. Once there I did 11 sets of 4. I ran down and back on the court and then walked down and back. It felt so good to run again. I walked a bunch after that. Stretched and then laid in the middle of the court and watched the night sky. The stars here are incredible. Then I walked the long way back to the house. Running is such a great way to clear my mind. Gotta love those endorphins.

9.18.2006

baseball

So I went to the Baseball game on the 17th and went up and down about 5 flights of stairs. I also walked around the entire ball park since I can't remember ever being there for a game before.

9.15.2006

round the block

So tonight, as I am in a new city I decided to take a couple laps around the area. It was a lovely night in Mesa, AZ. I walked around for about 40 min. at a brisk pace. It felt really good to be doing something active again after I was laid up for a couple weeks with my back.

Survivor Amy

High- Survivor started again! Yea. We are so going to take it this year.

Low- Knowing I wont be hanging out in SD for over two weeks.

Alpine Slide

Sophomore Year @ Big Bear
We had a blast when Erin's parents rented a house up in Big Bear for the weekend. We went rode the Alpine Slides and went skiing. At night we watched movies. It was a two story place that had a loft on the second floor which looked down into the living room so we had a popcorn fight, I am pretty sure I won since I was up in the loft looking down, it was much easier to ambush Erin. Heh Heh.
