lonely

The track has been lonely and DARK the last 3 days.

4 miles completed on Monday

biked 2 miles and Wii fitted on Tuesday

4 miles, 3 bike miles, 30 min batting practice, 30 min throwing, sit-ups/push-ups and fit test on Wii TODAY

10.30.2008

I rode my bike a mile to the park again did some batting practice and catch for an hour then rode back home dropped off the bike and my softball bag. Grabbed my ipod and headed out to hit the pavement for 6 miles.

I am taking a break to watch Greys then I will do some boxing, step aerobics, strength training and yoga. Followed by a good LONG stretch.

park-it

i really enjoyed the park yesterday so i decided to ride my bike over today along with my softball stuff attached to my back. i have a "hit-away" which is a contraption you attach to a pole and it helps you time your swings. then i played "catch" with myself on the handball courts. then i headed back to the apt. to get some water and play with the little one.

part 2 of my day i met up with jeri and amy at the track. i did 4.5 miles with them and then headed up to the fitness center for some weights and the stationary bikes. i headed home had dinner and relaxed a bit.

finally i did 50 situps and 25 pushups and played boxing, step aerobics, and strength training on the wii fit.

took a shower and now i am going to stretch and head to bed

gosh i hope i can get up for work in the morning

doah

I know I know... I said I would be better at posting on here and I havent been.

Update: I can still make my goal of 500 miles this year if I do a minimum of 2.3 miles per day between now and December 31st. I am glad I still have the possiblilty of completing this goal. I still need 100 more bike miles as well. As of right now I am trying to beat my milage from last year which was at just over 400. I am currently at 353 for this year.

I have slacked some this year but it seems that the time period of my slacking was a much shorter time from when I wasnt working out to when I started again. In my eyes that is a positive.

Anyway, I have been trying to meet up with Jeri, Amy and Ruth at the track as much as possible. It has been an adjustment with the move but I am back in the groove of things.

Again I promise to try and be more diligent about posting on here. I think it is helpful for me to not only get my thoughts out, but have a semi journal that when I look back on it in a few years will show the progress that I have made. Also it is encouraging to have people comment on my progress as well.

today i decided to explore the new neighborhood a bit and took to the streets of Norwalk. i headed towards some signs i had seen for a park. it did not take long to find the park so i checked it out and continued walking on. i completed 5 miles and i stopped at the basketball court on my way back to the apt. and did some suicides (old school) then headed on home to cook dinner for the boy sleeping on my couch and myself.

btw yesterday i made an attempt at a pull-up i honestly think it has been a good 15 years since i have been asked to do a pull up. i also tried a chin-up which i had more success with

not much

used the wii fit for an hour today and perspired mucho doing it. didnt get around to anything else because paul and i were out running errands getting things we need for our trip in a few days.

in the evening we went to the ball game which required going up a couple flights of stairs and some leisurely walking.

7.31.2008

today was thrown off a bit (read my other blog to find out why).

i was late meeting up with Jeri so I only completed 3mi walking, then i played wii and boy was Amy (of Amy and Ryan) right an hour on that thing and i could really feel it! then i decided my day just wouldnt be complete unless i got in the pool so i swam for an hour and a half.

my shoulders are SORE!!! i think swimming for a min of an hour over the last 5 days is really working them. i need to figure out how far i am actually swimming because our pool is quite small so i am doing one heck of a lot of laps.

i have done well with my eating this week... no french fries for this chick.

7.30.2008

rambling

Swam for an hour, 3 1/2mi at the track, 25min lifting weights, biked 2 1/2mi.

Twas a busy day for me. Sadly I was only down .2 of a lb. and that is really positive weight because me thinks that cruise added some weight even with all the walking and what not. i need to get down a couple pounds to be where i was pre-cruise.

I am feeling much better though. I look forward to my swim everyday, and walking with Jeri. It is always good to know someone will be checking up on you if you were to go AWOL one day.

I am going to need to make a point of not eating desert after dinner every night. Or convincing Paul to share desert on this next cruise. Darn Chocolate Melting Cake w/ vanilla ice cream!

7.29.2008

tripple threat

Swam for 1 1/2 hours, biked for 25 min, walked with Jeri. Completed 4 miles at creek park.

I am hoping I can keep up doing 3 things a day. I plan to switch off with biking and lifting weights. So that the days I am at BU track I am also lifting, the days I am at creek park I am biking.

...7 days till vacation...

7.28.2008

so... i have been a HUGE slacker. not only with posting on here but also with doing what i should be doing (working out). i have been getting better about it. since i cannot remember all the days i did what, when and so forth i will start with today and work backwards as far as i can remember.

today- i swam for an hour straight, relaxed a bit then headed to the track for 1 1/2 hours of fast walking. stretched and called it a night

yesterday- swam for an hour, biked 6 miles, completed 3 miles at the track. was still feeling the energy so i turned on the wii sports and played 3 tennis matches which took about 35 min or so.

saturday- lifted heavy stuff for hours. went up and down many many flights of stairs. remind me to never move.

last week i met up with jeri and amy a couple times through out the week, i and swam 2-3 times

cruise week we did TONS of walking, hiking, stairs, kayaking, a short swim and some more walking.

week before the cruise i did lots of swimming and walking. got my bike tires fixed at a wonderful little shop in Mira Mesa and biked 4 miles one day.

before that there was some walking, maybe a handful of days swimming but no where near the amount or consistancy that their should have been. i wont make any promises but i am going to do my best to be current in my posting of my progress and more exact in the miles, and hours i complete in what sport.

4.30.2008

I am awkward. (that word looks weird to me)
I have forgotten how to make friends.
I think I talk to much when I walk.
If I do... just give me a look, nudge me, poke me, trip me etc.
Thanks.

drama

Sorry for stopage of the posting. I had a medical issue that kept me from working out for about a week and a half, then we had Spring Break so I wasnt at home. Which was followed up by a couple weeks of me being lazy. So I maintained my weight most of the time and ended up at -1 from where I last left off.

This past week I did really well with working out even completeing 6 miles one day.
I took one day off. Did weights everyday I walked/jogged.

3.19.2008

two week fluke?

I knocked off another 2 pounds this week.

Today marked me hitting my 100 mile mark for the year. This is pretty darn good considering I didnt start until late Feb. I am impressed anyway. I didnt really feel like going to the track today but I told myself its 4pm that means it is time to be at the gym. So I went.

Thursday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were my days working out this week. I dont know why but I always seem to miss two days. I am hoping that even though I am on Spring Break this next week I can get at least 5-6 days of some sort of workout in.

As always my workout included miles on the track or jogging to get to the track (Tuesday), miles on the stationary bike, weights and the swoosh swoosh machine.

I have a blister on top of a blister. Oww!

I tried on a dress that I wore to a wedding a few years back (R's) and it was HUGE. I remember wearing it and thinking it was tight back then. Today I was a bit shocked at how loose it was.

3.12.2008

things that make you go hummm

Is my scale broken? It told me that as of this morning I was down 2.6 pounds for the week. I will see if this holds true over the next week. If so then I need 6 more pounds to reach my first goal. I am hoping to reach that goal by mid-April.

On to this week. Workout days include Thursday, Friday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Every day but today was more of the same miles on the track, miles on the bike and weights. I threw in some cross training and stair climber this week. Since I received two BL dvds in the mail yesterday evening I decided to give those a try today. And boy did they kick my butt. I have both the Cardio Max and Power Sculpt. I did an hour workout between the two dvds.

I am beginning to feel better about myself and am trying to squash all the negative talk in my head. I think wow I lost X number of pounds last year and then a stupid voice in my head says, but you are still fat and havent accomplished anything. Little by little I am trying to get rid of that and stick with the positive thinking. It is still tough at times.

I am trying to get into my next size jeans that I bought a month ago by the end of this month. I can get them over my bum, buttoned and zipped but I do not feel comfortable wearing them out and about.

It is off to the shower and then time to do some work before bed. Have a great night everyone.

3.05.2008

soo... maybe wednesday?

Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday I worked out. Completed miles on track and bike plus weights.

Tuesday I jumped rope,did sit-ups, push-ups and lunges.

I am down another 1.4 pounds.

I know I have said it before but it has really made a difference this week to know that I will have someone to see, walk and/or talk to as I am at the track. Even if we are on opposite sides of the track there is still some sort of exercise solidarity there.

3.03.2008

ah ha

So... I realized that since I was 6 yrs. old I have always been on a team of some sort. Baseball, Soccer, Volleyball, Swimming, Track & Field, Basketball.... during every season there was some sport or another I was playing. That is until I stopped playing. It never occurred to me when Softball was over that I would need to continue working out to stay the size I was. That may seem to a DUH to most of you but at the time it didn't occur to me. DOH. I think this is also why I have a hard time just doing lap after lap. I crave that team spirit. Those teammates cheering you on, struggling through it with you, and triumphing together. Maybe someday I will have the guts to go find myself a team to join again. For now I enjoy the time I get to spend when I see Jeri on the track.

2.27.2008

my bad

so i posted that last post and then peaced out on all of you. so here goes my very quick update.

i am making it my plan to post on here every tuesday evening, as that is my weigh in day, to let you know my progress for the week. as of yesterday i was down one pound for the past week. i have been much better about making good food choices. but not so much with the working out until as of recent. i went last wednesday and then got busy and didnt go again until monday. but i have started on a better track as i worked out monday, tuesday and today. i did walk/jog miles, bike miles and weights every day alternating between arms and leg weights each day.

sorry this is a bit brief but i am tired, it is my bed time.

so to recap next tuesday will be your next update on weight loss and working out. i may post about my "ah-ha" moment from this evenings walk with jeri tomorrow. for now i bid you a goodnight.

1.19.2008

the beginning

I am going to try to use this as both my food and exercise journal. We will see how that goes. I am not sure how consistent I will be with blogging. Hopefully I will be updating this once a day in the evenings around 7pm or so (but don't hold me to that). Thank you to all of you who said you would support me in changing my life.

I have already finished reading the Biggest Loser book, it had some good insight. I am now moving on to Dr.Phil's book. I have also begun writing in a journal the things I am learning about in the books I read as well as my thoughts, feelings and "a-ha" moments.

I have decided to weigh myself weekly. For me daily is to much. I don't want to look at that number every day and waiting to do it monthly is just too long for me. I am hoping that once Paul gets up we can go over to BB and B or Target to check out the fancy scales that will give you your BMI as I am more interested in that number going down than the poundage. I know right now that on the BMI scale I am obese and have been for awhile. My main concern is to feel better, to know that I am healthier, to have both my BMI and pant size go down. I think I have bored you enough with this for now.
